Established in 1998, The Garden Men is a family owned and operated lawn and garden care business based in Baulkham Hills but servicing the Sydney metropolitan area.

We have built our business through repeat and word-of-mouth customers servicing the residential, commercial and strata market throughout Sydney. We specialise in Strata and Commercial Lawn and Garden Maintenance and believe in always going above and beyond for our clients.

We pride ourselves on being reliable, well-presented and proactive in providing a professional result for our clients. We are fully insured offering a range of lawn and gardening services. The Garden Men is a registered and accredited member of the Australian Institute of Horticulture. Our staff are trained in Horticulture and Parks & Gardens with all team members holding an OH&S White Card and Chemcard. We operate as a small, friendly and professional landscape maintenance team who take pride in performing our service with care and quality workmanship.

We provide timely advice, updates and recommendations and all our equipment is regularly maintained and updated to ensure maximum efficiency on each job.

Our Team

Our Team

The Garden Men operate a small and compact professional maintenance team. The team is made up of permanent employees and we also have a core group of experienced part time and casual employees who assist the team throughout the week.

Bernard Boys

Bernard is the owner and manger who started the business in 1998. He started his working career as a Disability Case worker having completed a Bachelor degrees in Health & Community Development as well as Graduate Diploma in Leisure Management. Whilst enjoying this sector the call of the outdoors steered him into starting a lawn and garden business. Bernie loves working with nature and enjoys the sense of accomplishment when looking back on the service and work that The Garden Men do for their customers. Bernie has completed Certificate 2,3 and 4 in Amenity Horticulture. His interests include spending time with his family, keeping fit with going to the gym and playing touch footy.

Matthew Place


Matty is the Team Leader at The Garden Men. He has completed his Parks & Garden certificate and a apprenticeship with Blacktown Council. His favourite part of the job is looking back on the work that we have done and knowing it has made a difference. His highlights are a being able to help customers make their dream backyard become a realty. His interests include spending time with his two dogs as well as rugby league. He often tries to tone match songs on the radio and convince himself that he is a good enough singer to make a career out of it - until someone hears him and gives him a reality check!

Ryan Hodkinson


Ryan comes to The Garden Men after working as a certified Youth Worker. Ryan loves the outdoors and is currently undergoing a Parks & Gardens apprenticeship. Ryan enjoys seeing the satisfaction on the customers faces after completing the work we have done for them. His interests include cooking, sports, church and going on adventures. His quirky fact is that he can do one breakdance move - just one!

Anthony Watson


Tony has been in the lawn and garden maintenance game since he started work some 15 years ago. The Garden Men is very lucky to have the experience and can do approach that Tony brings to his work. Anthony is our go to fix guy as he can keep the team running if mechanical issues arrive. Outside of work, Tony loves spending time with his family and tinkering with machinery.

Jake Walker

Jake is a very experienced operator having worked in the industry for over 12 years and is trade qualified Parks & Gardens technician. Great communication skills , an ability to use an extensive range of equipment , you will be very impressed with the quality of work that Jake produces. Jake has an incredible eye for detail and takes great pride in the end result. Away from work Jake is very creative with his passion for tattoos, cooking, bike riding and spending time with his family.

Joel Moncrieff


Joel is a huge asses to business with his strong work ethic, calm approach and willingness to make sure that the end result is the right result. Joel has great communication skills and loves to tackle any task big or small. Joel has many interests outside of work which include surfing, camping , spending time with those close to him and keeping fit.
